Vidya Balan recently shared her candid opinions on whether nepotism affects success in the film industry.
Vidya Balan, set for her upcoming rom-com “Do Aur Do Pyaar,” renowned for her diverse roles, has consistently embraced unconventional characters. In a conversation with The Indian Express, she was asked about nepotism and its influence on an artist’s journey.
Vidya Balan spoke openly about nepotism in Bollywood, sharing her perspective on its impact. She expressed, “Regardless of nepotism, I’m here. The industry isn’t owned by anyone’s father; otherwise, every star kid would succeed.”
The actor elaborated, saying, “I’ve found contentment in pursuing my own path. Sometimes, I’ve thought, ‘Perhaps with the backing of certain individuals, people might have been more forgiving during tough times.’ But when it comes to opportunities, I believe I’ve received my fair share without being denied.”
Vidya Balan’s upcoming projects include “Do Aur Do Pyaar,” a satirical exploration of modern-day relationships, addressing issues like compatibility and infidelity in marriages. Alongside Vidya, Pratik Gandhi, Illeana D’Cruz, and Sendhil Ramamurthy play significant roles. This film marks Vidya’s first release of 2024 following “Neeyat” in 2023.
