Mother of Pune Teen Who Killed Two with Porsche Arrested.

The Pune teen’s mother was arrested on Saturday. According to the Commissioner of Police, the investigation revealed that the juvenile’s blood samples had been swapped with those of his mother.

On Saturday, Pune police arrested the mother of the 17-year-old accused of running over two techies with his Porsche last month. Shivani Agarwal was arrested after it was confirmed that her son’s blood samples had been swapped with hers, the city police chief told PTI.

Agarwal was traced after arriving in Pune from Mumbai on Friday night. She is expected to be produced in court today, according to PTI. As part of their investigation, the police spoke to the teen for about an hour at the observation home, where he will remain until June 5, in his mother’s presence. “We will conduct the minor’s inquiry inside the home in the presence of his mother,” stated Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shailesh Balkawade before speaking to the minor.

On Friday, the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) allowed the police to interrogate the teenager. Under the Juvenile Justice Act, the inquiry of a minor must be conducted in the presence of the parents, PTI reported.

Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar confirmed that the accident investigation revealed the teen’s blood samples were swapped with those of his mother. This arrest follows police claims in a local court that the blood samples were exchanged to show the teen was not drunk at the time of the accident.

The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report, which showed no alcohol in the teen’s first blood sample, raised suspicions. A subsequent blood test at a different hospital and DNA tests confirmed the samples were from two different individuals.

Shivani Agarwal had been absconding since the arrest of Dr. Shrihari Halnor and Dr. Ajay Tawade. These doctors were arrested for allegedly tampering with evidence by disposing of the 17-year-old’s blood sample and replacing it with another individual’s.

The incident occurred in the early hours of May 19 in Kalyani Nagar, Pune, where two IT professionals were killed after a Porsche, allegedly driven by a drunk minor, rammed their bike.

While the 17-year-old accused has been sent to an observation home, his father, realtor Vishal Agarwal, and grandfather, Surendra Agarwal, have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping the family’s driver and pressuring him to take the blame.

The teen’s father, mother, and the involved doctors now face charges under IPC sections 471 (fraudulently or dishonestly using as genuine any document known to be forged) and 473 (making or possessing counterfeit seal with intent to commit forgery).
