A massive crowd gathered outside Abhishek Ghosalkar’s residence to participate in his final rites, prompting tight police security measures.

Abhishek (40), a former corporator and son of ex-MLA Vinod Ghosalkar, remained a steadfast supporter of the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena.
In addition to Uddhav Thackeray, his son Aaditya Thackeray and wife Rashmi were also present at Abhishek Ghosalkar’s funeral.
After undergoing post-mortem at JJ Hospital, the body of Abhishek Ghosalkar was transported to his residence in Borivali.

Police suspect there was a conflict between Abhishek Ghosalkar and Mauris Noronha, who harbored political ambitions.
Police have interviewed Noronha’s family members, including his wife, and discovered that Noronha harbored animosity towards Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Abhishek Ghosalkar.
During a Facebook Live session, Abhishek Ghosalkar was shot by a local social activist named Mauris Noronha, who subsequently took his own life after shooting Ghosalkar.

Police stated that Noronha also took his own life by shooting himself. Ghosalkar, a former corporator, tragically passed away due to gunshot wounds at a hospital in north Mumbai.
In a widely circulated video of the incident, Ghosalkar was seen being shot in the abdomen and shoulder while he was live on Facebook with Noronha, a local activist. The clip also captured the sounds of three additional shots being fired.
An official mentioned that Ghosalkar and Noronha had a “personal enmity,” but the purpose of the Facebook live was to clarify that they had reconciled, putting an end to their animosity for the betterment of the IC Colony area in Borivli.
The occurrence unfolded shortly after a BJP MLA was captured on video firing at an Eknath Shinde faction leader inside a police station in Ulhasnagar, prompting concerns about the law and order situation in Maharashtra.
Abhishek was the son of Vinod Ghosalkar, a prominent figure in the Uddhav Thackeray-led party.
The attack occurred in the office of Noronha, also known as Mauris Bhai. Despite their recent reconciliation, Abhishek was purportedly invited to Noronha’s office for an event where Noronha allegedly shot Ghosalkar before turning the gun on himself. The entire incident was broadcast live on Facebook.
