The Telangana MLA who died in the crash had been in another car accident just 10 days earlier.

Lasya Nanditha was taken to the hospital after the accident, where doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival.

Today, Lasya Nanditha, a Telangana MLA, tragically passed away following a collision between the SUV she was traveling in and a road divider in Hyderabad. This marks the second major accident involving the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader this month.

Just a decade ago, the 37-year-old lawmaker survived an accident in Narkatpally. During that incident, she was en route to a rally where Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was speaking when a drunk driver crashed into her vehicle. Although she sustained minor injuries, tragically, her home guard lost his life in the accident.

Today’s fatal accident occurred when the driver of her Maruti XL6 lost control, causing the vehicle to collide with the metal divider on the Outer Ring Road in Hyderabad. Lasya Nanditha succumbed to her injuries at the scene, while her driver is in critical condition and receiving treatment at a private hospital.

Today’s incident occurred at 5:30 am.

Police are currently investigating both accidents.

The 37-year-old legislator from Secunderabad Cantonment (SC) was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead upon arrival by doctors.

Lasya Nanditha, born in 1986 in Hyderabad, entered politics about ten years ago. Initially serving as a corporator in the Kavadiguda ward, she later became an MLA from Secunderabad Cantonment in the 2023 Telangana assembly elections.

Condolences poured in from Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, BRS chief, state BJP president G Kishan Reddy, as well as numerous Telangana ministers and leaders, mourning the loss of the young legislator.

Revanth Reddy expressed sorrow over the untimely demise of Lasya Nandita, reminiscing about his strong bond with her late father, G Sayanna. “It’s heartbreaking that Sayanna passed away in February last year, and now, Lasya Nanditha also unexpectedly left us in the same month (within a year),” he remarked.
