The Great Indian Kapil Show Grand Finale First Impressions: Sunil Grover and Krushna Abhishek Shine as Champions; Kartik Aaryan’s Mother Steals the Spotlight.

Sunil Grover and Krushna Abhishek gave a season-winning performance as Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, respectively, leaving both the audience and themselves in stitches.

This was the season’s best moment. What madness,” Kapil Sharma exclaimed as he wrapped up Season 1 of The Great Indian Kapil Show. The joy among the comedian and his team was evident, confident that despite a mix of dull and amusing moments throughout the season, they concluded it spectacularly.

If Kapil saved the best for last, let’s break tradition and start with the show’s highlight. The Grand Finale didn’t include multiple sketches; instead, the creators reserved an elaborate sketch for the finale. It featured Sunil Grover as Salman Khan and Krushna Abhishek as Shah Rukh Khan, with Kiku Sharda hilariously portraying Rakhee Gulzar, repeatedly calling out to “Karan Arjun.” The sketch revolved around these three characters forming a dysfunctional family, with the sons exasperated by their mother’s constant demands.

Watching Sunil imitate Salman from his Bigg Boss hosting days was pure comedic and acting genius. Despite having minimal lines, his mimicry of Salman, complete with the signature line, “I don’t like this s*** man,” had the audience in stitches. Sunil’s commitment to the character was evident as he walked and talked like Salman without holding back. Kartik Aaryan couldn’t contain his laughter, pounding his foot on the ground in amusement.

Complementing Sunil Grover’s acting prowess was Krushna Abhishek’s hilarious madness, using Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jhoome Jo Pathaan” hook step as his comedic weapon, causing a riot of laughter. Several times during his act, he had to break character because his fellow comedians couldn’t stop cracking up at his over-the-top portrayal of SRK. This act brought back the good old days of Kapil Sharma and his crew, where even a moderately funny skit turned into comedy gold thanks to their perfect timing and hilarious antics.

Since it was the last episode of Season 1, fans eagerly hoped Kapil would don one of his outrageous costumes and crack them up. Instead, the comedian stuck to the interview format and let his team take the comedy reins.

The rest of the show featured Kapil Sharma and his audience enjoying Kartik Aaryan’s childhood secrets, shared by his no-holds-barred mom, Mala. Although Kartik was the star guest of the Grand Finale, it was his mother who truly stole the spotlight. Inviting the Chandu Champion actor’s mother was a stroke of genius by Kapil’s team. Her candid stories prompted Kartik to drop his starry reserve and join in on the fun. For Mala, she was simply a mom first and a Bollywood star’s mom second. Like any typical Indian mother, she had no qualms about sharing every mischievous detail of Kartik’s childhood. While this might have been embarrassing for the actor, it left his fans delighted and in fits of laughter.

The season finale of The Great Indian Kapil Show also featured Kapil playfully ribbing his teammates and fondly recalling their sketches from the past 13 episodes. As we laughed along with the flashback clips, it was clear that Kapil’s comedy crew expertly wove their magic, allowing him to dazzle the guests while they kept the audience in stitches. Although their efforts were top-notch, the show’s writers will need to conjure up wittier sketches to keep us eagerly anticipating Season 2.
