Day 1 box office collection of Srikanth: The film performs strongly in India. Starring Rajkummar Rao, Alaya F, Jyotika, Sharad Kelkar, and more.
Srikanth, directed by Tushar Hiranandani, had a solid start at the domestic box office on its first day of release. According to Sacnilk.com, the film grossed over ₹2 crore in India on May 10th.
As per early estimates, Srikanth collected ₹2.25 crore net at the Indian box office on its opening day. The film achieved a 12.14% occupancy rate for its Hindi version on Friday.
In Srikanth, Rajkummar Rao portrays the role of Srikanth Bolla, an industrious individual who, despite being visually impaired, pursued his dreams and went on to establish Bollant Industries. Alongside Rajkummar Rao, the film features Alaya F, Jyotika, and Sharad Kelkar in prominent roles. Srikanth is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishna Kumar, and Nidhi Parmar Hiranandani.
In an interview with news agency PTI, Rajkummar stated, “I don’t really plan. Whatever character or film I’m doing at that moment, that becomes my dream role. I’m solely focused on that character and that story. I’m sure there’s much more ahead for me. Like, two-three years ago, I didn’t know that I would be able to do Srikanth, but it happened. There’s more hunger in me as an actor, and there’s more fire. There will be way more challenging characters coming my way.”
When discussing his decision to take on the role, the actor expressed, “I love challenges, and something that scares me excites me even more. Srikanth presented that challenge to me. I had never played a visually impaired character before, so I wasn’t sure if I would be able to do it. However, that’s the fun part – pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. It required extensive research. Whenever I get an opportunity like that, I completely cherish it.

The Hindustan Times review of the film stated, “Srikanth effectively brings attention to our society’s lack of empathy towards people with disabilities and their challenges. The movie highlights the biases present in the educational system and job opportunities for them. This is depicted in a scene where Srikanth is seeking investors for his business, and one company, hesitant to invest, tries to divert him towards making candles for Diwali—a task often associated with visually impaired individuals.”
