NCP leader Sharad Pawar recently held a press conference in Nagpur, where he highlighted a shift in public sentiment against PM Narendra Modi. Pawar expressed concerns about attacks on institutions under the current regime. Regarding the INDIA bloc’s prime ministerial candidate, he stated that no decision has been made yet.
On the issue of seat sharing for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Pawar humorously remarked that he’s not an astrologer. He welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to grant bail to AAP leader Sanjay Singh, emphasizing the need for justice. Pawar also affirmed his support for Sanjay Singh and addressed queries about his coalition’s stance towards other political groups.
Responding to concerns about potential NCP splits affecting electoral outcomes, Pawar asserted that people will vote for candidates capable of defeating the BJP. He denied any political motivations behind not fielding a candidate against Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, citing strategic considerations.
Pawar remained cautious when asked about his daughter Supriya Sule’s electoral prospects, emphasizing that voting was yet to take place. Regarding PM Modi’s plans for his government’s third term, Pawar acknowledged Modi’s political acumen. Finally, when questioned about China’s unilateral actions in Arunachal Pradesh, Pawar criticized the government’s handling of national interests.
