Parineeti Chopra reveals that she decided to marry Raghav Chadha without knowing if he was already married or had children.
Parineeti Chopra is basking in the positive response to her performance in “Amar Singh Chamkila.” The actor’s marriage to politician Raghav Chadha was one of the biggest headlines of 2023. In an interview with Raj Shamani on his YouTube channel, Parineeti shared the romantic story of her relationship with Raghav.
Parineeti fondly recalls her first meeting with Raghav.
Speaking about their relationship, she said, “We met at an event in London, and unlike my usual self, I suggested, ‘Let’s meet for breakfast’. Our teams joined us, making it around 8-10 of us, and we had breakfast together the next day. At that point, I had no idea who he was or what he did. I literally looked him up after breakfast. I learned about all the work he had done, and we both realized, not even in weeks, but in days, that we wanted to get married.”
She added, “I swear, I met Raghav, and within five minutes, I knew I was going to marry this man. I didn’t even know if he was married, had children, or how old he was… He just sat across from me at breakfast, and I thought, ‘I think I’m going to marry this man.’ It was like some divine voice inside me.”
Parineeti and Raghav exchanged vows on September 24 last year. The couple had a private wedding ceremony at The Leela Palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Among the attendees were Parineeti’s aunt and Priyanka Chopra’s mother, Madhu Chopra. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Aaditya Thackeray, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, Manish Malhotra, Harbhajan Singh, and Sania Mirza also graced the occasion. Raghav, a politician associated with the Aam Aadmi Party, married Parineeti, who recently starred in Imtiaz Ali’s “Amar Singh Chamkila” alongside Diljit Dosanjh. In the musical biopic, while Diljit played the titular role, Parineeti portrayed his wife, Amarjot Kaur. “Amar Singh Chamkila” is available for streaming on Netflix.
