‘Jhanak’ Star Dolly Sohi Dies at 48 from Cervical Cancer

Dolly Sohi’s sister Amandeep also died on March 7th.

Television actresses and sisters Dolly and Amandeep Sohi have both passed away. Dolly, recognized for her portrayal of Srishti Mukherjee in the TV series Jhanak, had left the show due to health issues related to her battle with cervical cancer. She was 48 years old. Amandeep, known for her role in Badtameez Dil, also succumbed to jaundice on March 7th, as confirmed by their brother Manu Sohi in a statement to Indianexpress.com. The family expressed their devastation at the loss, with Dolly passing away around 4 am on the same day.

Manu stated, “Both Dolly and Amandeep were hospitalized at Apollo Hospital in New Mumbai. Amandeep passed away yesterday, and now Dolly.”

Dolly frequently engaged with her fans on Instagram, sharing videos and updates. In a recent post, she expressed gratitude, stating, “THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR LOVE AND PRAYERS. Life has been a Roller Coaster lately. But if you have the strength to confront it, your journey becomes more manageable. It’s your choice whether you see yourself as a Victim Of the Journey (CANCER) or a Survivor Of the Journey.”

Reports indicate that Dolly was formerly married to Avneet Dhanowa, an NRI living in Canada. She is survived by her daughter Amelie. Dolly opened up to ETimes about the challenge of sharing her diagnosis with her daughter. At the age of 14, Dolly gently alluded to her condition, reassuring Amelie that she would recover soon.
