Celebrities respond to a post on the Kangana slap incident:

On Sunday, journalist Faye D’Souza shared a post on Instagram condemning the incident where MP Kangana Ranaut was slapped. The post emphasized that violence can never be justified, especially in a country that was founded on the principles of non-violence by Gandhi. It stressed the importance of disagreeing with views peacefully and not condoning violence. The post also highlighted the danger of security personnel reacting violently while in uniform, raising concerns about the potential consequences if those who questioned authority were assaulted by constables in agreement with that power over the past decade.

The post received likes from Alia, as well as Kangana’s reported ex, actor Hrithik Roshan, along with other celebrities including Soni Razdan, Zoya Akhtar, Sonakshi Sinha, and Arjun Kapoor, among others. Throughout the years, Kangana has been in the spotlight for her rumored conflicts with Alia.

Kangana Ranaut has frequently criticized Alia in her social media posts and interviews. In 2019, Kangana disparaged Alia’s performance in Gully Boy, labeling it as ‘mediocre’. During that time, an entertainment website, Bollywood Life, conducted a poll asking fans to vote for the best performance by a female actor in 2019. Kangana emerged as the winner of the poll with 37 percent of the votes for her performance in Manikarnika. Alia came in second with 33 percent of the votes.

When approached by the publication for her reaction to surpassing Alia in the poll, Kangana responded, “I am embarrassed… what is there to beat in her Gully Boy performance… same snappy muh phat (outspoken) girl… Bollywood’s idea of a fiery girl, woman empowerment and good acting, spare me this embarrassment, please. Media has taken filmy kids love too far. Stop pampering mediocre work or else bar will never be raised.”
