Celebrity duo Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have sparked excitement online by announcing the upcoming arrival of their first child. The news was shared in a post on Thursday, stating the expected delivery date as September 2024. Speculation about Deepika’s pregnancy arose when photos from the 77th BAFTA Awards showed her concealing her midsection. Both Ranveer and Deepika took to their Instagram accounts to share the news, posting an e-card adorned with balloons, baby clothes, lollipops, and booties in gentle pastel colors.
Social media speculation heightened, especially on the microblogging platform X, after Deepika Padukone’s efforts to conceal her abdomen at the BAFTAs’ red carpet. Padukone, who attended as a presenter, captivated attention with her stunning silver saree designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
In a prior interview with Vogue Singapore, the “Ram Leela” star candidly expressed her longing to begin a family, affirming, “Ranveer and I love kids. We’re eagerly anticipating the time when we can start our own family.”
Padukone and Singh tied the knot in November 2018 at Lake Como, Italy, following six years of courtship. They first met on the set of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s romantic drama “Ram Leela” in 2013, a film that enjoyed commercial success. Their on-screen chemistry continued to charm audiences in Bhansali’s subsequent films, “Padmavaat” and “Bajirao Mastani.”
After the couple’s pregnancy reveal, numerous Bollywood stars extended their congratulations on social media. Actress Priyanka Chopra commented on Deepika and Ranveer’s post, saying, “Congratulations” with a red heart emoji. Kriti Sanon exclaimed, “Omg!!!! Congratulations to you both!”
Regarding her career, Padukone’s most recent appearance was in the aerial drama “Fighter” alongside Hrithik Roshan, which enjoyed moderate success at the box office. Her upcoming project is the fantasy film “Kalki 2898 AD,” where she stars opposite Telugu superstar Prabhas.
Currently, Singh is gearing up to star in “Don 3,” the third installment of the “Don” franchise, originally helmed by superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Actress Kiara Advani has been paired opposite him in this highly anticipated film.
