Pune Police confiscate Audi car belonging to controversial IAS trainee officer Puja Khedkar.

The luxury car had been involved in multiple traffic violations, resulting in 21 challans and fines totaling ₹27,000 from the traffic department.

Early Sunday morning, Pune city police seized the Audi car used by probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar. The car was allegedly equipped with a red beacon and unauthorized ‘Maharashtra Government’ insignia during her tenure at the Pune district collectorate.

A luxury car was dropped off at the Chaturshrungi police station’s traffic division by the Khedkar family’s driver.

The police seized the car under Section 207 of the Motor Vehicles Act (MVA), which allows them to detain vehicles lacking a certificate of registration and permit.

Rohidas Pawar, deputy commissioner of police (traffic), stated, “We have seized the vehicle for unauthorized use of a red beacon, and the process of scrutinizing all valid documents and papers is underway.”

The police confirmed that the car is registered under a private engineering company.

Previously, the luxury car had been involved in multiple traffic violations, resulting in 21 challans and fines totaling ₹27,000.

Pawar clarified that the vehicle owner recently paid all pending fines, but still needs to comply with other regulations.

Earlier this week, a police team attempted to contact the Khedkar family to verify the car’s documents, but received no response. Consequently, the police served a notice to Puja for allegedly using a beacon on a private car.

Puja was recently transferred from Pune to Washim following allegations of high-handed behavior during her probationary period at the Pune district collectorate. She reportedly caused controversy with demands for separate office space, an official vehicle, and other perks.

Hindustan Times attempted to reach Puja and her father Dilip for comments, but their calls went unanswered.

On Saturday, a team of Pune rural police visited the Khedkar family’s residence in Aundh but found no one there.

An earlier FIR was filed against Puja’s mother, Manorama, after an old video of her brandishing a gun went viral.

Manoj Yadav, police inspector at Paud police station, stated that the Khedkar family is not cooperating with the investigation. “We tried to call them, but there has been no response. Our team also visited their residence in Aundh, but no one was present.”
