Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress during a campaign rally in Surendranagar, Gujarat, in support of BJP candidates contesting for the Surendranagar and Bhavnagar Lok Sabha seats. He criticized Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s recent remarks about Lord Ram and Lord Shiva, accusing the opposition party of attempting to divide Hindus for its appeasement politics.
“The Congress is now trying to sow discord among Hindus. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has made a very dangerous statement regarding Lord Ram and Lord Shiva. This statement has been made with malicious intent. They are playing a divisive game within the Hindu community,” Modi stated.
“They are fostering discord among devotees of Lord Ram and Lord Shiva, hoping they will fight amongst themselves. Even the Mughals couldn’t break our millennia-old traditions. And now, Congress wants to break them? How low will Congress stoop for appeasement?” Modi continued.
The Prime Minister also alleged that the Congress, in its manifesto, has proposed a separate quota for minorities in the allocation of all government tenders.
