Mukhtar Ansari died of a heart attack, as confirmed by the autopsy, despite earlier suspicions of poisoning.

The post-mortem report of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari confirmed that his death resulted from cardiac arrest. His family had accused that he died from “slow poisoning” while in jail.

The post-mortem examination report of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari established that his demise was due to cardiac arrest.

Mukhtar Ansari, a former MLA from Mau with a history of over 60 criminal cases, passed away on Thursday night after being urgently taken to Rani Durgavati Medical College in Banda. He had been incarcerated in the district jail.

Ansari’s family claimed that his death was the result of “slow poisoning” during his time in jail.

Mukhtar Ansari’s son, Umar Ansari, alleged that his father was subjected to “slow poisoning” while in prison and subsequently demanded that his post-mortem examination be carried out by AIIMS doctors in Delhi.

In a letter addressed to the Banda District Magistrate, Umar expressed his family’s loss of trust in both the local administration and the medical system.

According to a senior hospital source with access to the report, the post-mortem examination conducted by a panel of five doctors concluded that Mukhtar Ansari’s cause of death was a heart attack (myocardial infarction).

Umar Ansari, the younger son of Mukhtar Ansari, was present during the post-mortem examination at Rani Durgavati Medical College.

Following the post-mortem examination, a lengthy procession of vehicles departed from Banda in the evening, transporting Mukhtar Ansari’s body to his hometown district of Ghazipur. He was laid to rest on Saturday morning.
