First Look at Kalki 2898 AD: Meet Amitabh Bachchan as “Guru Drona’s Son” – Ashwatthama

Amitabh Bachchan shared his experience of working on the film on his social media account on Sunday.

The teaser for Amitabh Bachchan’s look in the sci-fi dystopian film “Kalki 2898 AD” was unveiled by the film’s makers on Sunday evening. Premiered on Star Sports after the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) match during the Indian Premier League (IPL), the 21-second promo video gave viewers a glimpse of Bachchan’s character, Ashwatthama. Alongside Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani, Bachchan will play a prominent role in the highly anticipated film. The teaser begins with Bachchan’s character praying in front of a Shiva Linga inside a cave, only to be interrupted by a child asking, “Can you not die? Are you divine? Who are you?” Building tension, Bachchan’s voice resonates, “Since ancient times, I have awaited the arrival of the Avatar. I am Guru Drona’s son. Ashwatthama.”

Over the weekend, the creators of “Kalki 2898 AD” unveiled a poster featuring Amitabh Bachchan’s character from the film, along with the caption, “The time has come to know who he is.”

Directed by Nag Ashwin, best known for helming the National Award-winning 2018 biographical drama “Mahanati,” “Kalki 2898 AD” brings together Deepika Padukone and Prabhas for the first time. Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan have previously shared the screen in the 2015 film “Piku.”

“Kalki 2898 AD,” produced by Aswini Dutt, the founder of Vyjayanthi Movies, is set to release in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
