Kiara Advani graced an event during the Cannes Film Festival’s sidelines on Saturday, turning heads not only with her stunning pink and black gown but also with her interview on the red carpet of the Red Sea Film Foundation’s Women in Cinema gala dinner. While discussing her inaugural Cannes experience, her newly adopted accent became a notable point of discussion.
In the video, Kiara expresses her gratitude for being invited to the event, especially as she celebrates her 10-year journey as an actor. She mentions, “It comes at a very special moment as well,” with a distinct Americanized pronunciation of “very” and “at,” sparking speculation among fans about her accent transformation.

On Twitter, someone warned, “Bollywood Twitter is going to discuss your accent… KIARA, RUN.” As expected, many tweets reacted to Kiara’s accent, with one fan asking, “Why the accent?” Another said, “Her normal accent is better.” Someone else questioned, “Why not stick to the Indian accent?” Another tweet criticized, “Does Kiara think she’s like Kim Kardashian with that accent? Please, stop it.”
Kiara also participated in an event organized by Variety where she discussed her career and films alongside a panel of other women from the entertainment industry.
The Cannes Film Festival commenced on Tuesday evening with the premiere of Quentin Dupieux’s Le Deuxieme Acte (The Second Act), featuring Lea Seydoux, Vincent Lindon, Louis Garrel, and Raphael Quenard.
