TV actor Rituraj Singh passed away from a heart attack on February 20 at the age of 59. Many celebrities, including Manoj Bajpayee, Varun Dhawan, Hansal Mehta, Sonu Sood, and Kavita Kaushik, shared their grief on social media.
Rituraj suffered a cardiac arrest around 12:30 am on February 20 while also undergoing treatment for pancreas-related issues.
Manoj Bajpayee, who was a friend and colleague of Rituraj, expressed his shock, saying, “How can this be true, Ritz? Why? Such devastating news to wake up to! Rest in peace, Rituraj, my friend! Om Shanti.”
Hansal Mehta, who collaborated with Rituraj on the show ‘K Street Pali Hill,’ expressed disbelief at the actor’s passing. He wrote, “Rituraj!!!! Can’t believe this! I directed him briefly in a daily soap called K Street Pali Hill, and in that time, we became good friends. Though it’s been a while since we hung out, I cherish fond memories of him. He was an actor with immense potential and a kind-hearted person. His sudden departure feels too soon.”
Sonu Sood mourned Rituraj’s death on X (formerly Twitter).
Actor Divya Seth posted a nostalgic photo of herself with Rituraj, Shah Rukh Khan, and Sanjoy Roy as she said goodbye to her friend. Rituraj, SRK, and Divya Seth were all classmates in Barry John’s theater group.
Director Vivek Agnihotri also expressed his sorrow over the loss of his friend. He wrote, “Rituraj, my friend, how is this even conceivable? So much left to do. Artists never fade away. Om Shanti.”
Actor Kavita Kaushik, who collaborated with Rituraj in Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Kutum,’ penned a heartfelt message. She wrote, “A fantastic actor, brimming with energy, the soul of every gathering. He played my on-screen father in Kutumb, and I learned a great deal from him. Rituraj, you left us too soon. May you find tranquility and everything you sought in the afterlife.”
Actor Arshad Warsi, who was Rituraj’s neighbor and had the opportunity to work with him, expressed his sadness at the news, saying he lost a friend and a talented actor. Warsi tweeted, “I am deeply saddened to hear about Ritu Raj’s passing. We lived in the same building, and he was part of my first film as a producer. Losing a friend and a great actor – will miss you, brother.”
Rituraj Singh had a versatile career spanning both television and film. He was recently seen in the popular TV series ‘Anupamaa’. Singh had notable roles in various television shows such as ‘Banegi Apni Baat’, where he acted alongside Irrfan, Surekha Sikri, and R Madhavan. He also appeared in ‘Kutumb’, ‘Ghar Ek Mandir’, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’, and many more.
Actor Hiten Tejwani shared his thoughts on Rituraj’s passing, expressing sadness. He said, “It’s hard to find words. It’s a sad moment. We’ve lost a kind-hearted person and a fantastic actor. My sincere condolences to his entire family.”
According to the report, Amit Behl revealed that Rituraj Singh passed away at 12:30 am. He mentioned that Rituraj had been experiencing health issues and was admitted to the hospital around two weeks ago due to pancreatic problems. Although he was discharged, he felt severely unwell on Monday and was rushed back to the hospital. Unfortunately, he suffered the cardiac arrest before reaching the hospital.
