Malaika Arora left her father’s house by car with her son Arhaan Khan, while her sister Amrita Arora departed with her husband, Shakeel Ladak.
Many celebrities visited television personality and model Malaika Arora following the death of her father, Anil Mehta, on Wednesday. Her ex-boyfriend Arjun Kapoor, along with friends and actors Kareena Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor, were seen arriving at her father’s home during the day to offer their condolences. They were all spotted leaving late at night.
Arjun Kapoor assists Malaika to her car
In a video, Arjun Kapoor is seen walking out of the gate, followed by Malaika. He then escorts her to her car as she leaves her father’s house with her son, Arhaan Khan. Her sister, Amrita Arora, also departed with her husband, Shakeel Ladak. Arjun similarly helped Kareena and Karisma Kapoor to their car.
Malaika shares a statement on her father’s passing
On Wednesday evening, Malaika posted an official statement on Instagram on behalf of her family following the death of her father, Anil Mehta. The statement read, “We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved father, Anil Mehta. He was a kind soul, a dedicated grandfather, a loving husband, and our closest friend. Our family is deeply shocked by this loss, and we respectfully ask for privacy from the media and well-wishers during this challenging time. We are grateful for your understanding, support, and respect. With gratitude, Joyce, Malaika, Amrita, Shakeel, Arhaan, Azaan, Rayyan, Casper, AXL, Duffy, and Buddy.”
Many celebrities visited Malaika
Several other stars, including Saif Ali Khan, Chunky Panday, and his daughter Ananya Panday, visited Malaika. Her ex-husband, Arbaaz Khan, and the Khan family also paid their respects on Wednesday. Sohail Khan, along with his parents, Salim and Salma Khan, were spotted arriving at her father’s residence as photographers gathered outside.
Police investigation into the death case
Earlier in the day, Mumbai Police stated that Malaika’s father’s death “prima facie” appears to be a suicide, and all possible angles are being investigated. DCP Crime Branch, Raj Tilak Roshan, informed the media that the body had been sent for post-mortem, with police and forensic teams actively conducting the investigation.
At the time of her father’s death, Malaika was not at home. The actor-model was reportedly in Pune and rushed back to Mumbai upon receiving the news.
