BJP Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut was allegedly slapped by a CISF constable while she was en route to Delhi for an NDA meeting.
The CISF constable accused of slapping BJP MP Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh airport on June 6, 2024, stated that his mother was among the farmers participating in a sit-in protest against the now-repealed farm laws.
The constable said, “Kangana claimed that the farmers were protesting for ₹100. Would she sit there? My mother was among those protesting when she made this statement…”
Ms. Ranaut was allegedly slapped by the constable while on her way to Delhi to attend a National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meeting scheduled for today.
The CISF has suspended the constable, and an investigation is underway.
“It is unfortunate whatever has happened. For a security person to behave like this at Chandigarh airport is very unfortunate. An investigation will be conducted, and I have received information that the security person has been suspended,” said BJP leader Jairam Thakur. Reacting to the Kangana Ranaut slap incident, Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh also called it “unfortunate.”
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini asserted that action will be taken against the accused.
