Goa Hotel Manager’s Attempt to Conceal Wife’s Murder as an Accident Foiled; Apprehended After…

As per the police, Gaurav and Diksha are both originally from Lucknow. Despite being married for a year, their relationship has been tense.

The manager of a high-end hotel in South Goa has been arrested for allegedly murdering his wife. The accused, identified as Gaurav Katiyar, reportedly drowned his wife at Cabo de Rama Beach in Goa after she confronted him about his suspected extramarital affair, as per the police statement on Saturday.

Gaurav Katiyar, aged 29 and employed as a manager at a luxury hotel affiliated with Marriott International in Colva, South Goa, attempted to portray his wife Diksha Gangwar’s death as an accident. However, his deception was exposed when a bystander’s video contradicted his claims.

The police revealed that both Gaurav and Diksha are natives of Lucknow. Despite being married for a year, their relationship remained strained.

Gaurav allegedly chose to end Diksha’s life as she was aware of his extramarital affair, according to police sources reported by news agency PTI.

“The incident occurred at around 3.45 pm on Friday when Katiyar took his wife for a stroll on the beach, which is situated in close proximity to his workplace,” stated the official.

He led her to a rocky section of the beach and submerged her in the sea.

Witnessing the couple entering the sea, some tourists raised an alarm upon observing Gaurav returning to the beach unaccompanied.

When confronted, Katiyar caused a disturbance and attempted to portray the incident as an accidental occurrence.

Police discovered Gangwar’s body near the well-known beach on Friday afternoon.

“Injury marks were detected on her body,” the official mentioned.
