In New Delhi, a woman from Darjeeling, West Bengal, was reportedly raped for a week by her friend, who also inflicted severe physical abuse, including pouring hot dal on her, according to police statements on Tuesday. Paras (28), the accused, has been charged with rape, sodomy, and causing injury. He was apprehended on February 2, authorities stated.
