Sonakshi Sinha has finally responded to Mukesh Khanna’s distasteful remarks about her upbringing and the values instilled by her father, Shatrughan Sinha. She urged him to stop seeking attention at the expense of her and her family. Mukesh had earlier recalled the KBC episode where Sonakshi struggled to answer a question about the Ramayana.
Sonakshi Sinha has issued a warning to Mukesh Khanna after his remarks about her upbringing went viral. The Shaktimaan actor had commented on her father Shatrughan Sinha’s values while recalling an old Kaun Banega Crorepati episode where Sonakshi couldn’t answer a question about Lord Hanuman.

Responding to his remarks, Sonakshi shared a note on her Instagram stories. She wrote, “I recently read a statement where you said it’s my father’s fault that I couldn’t answer a question about the Ramayana on a show I attended years ago. Firstly, let me remind you there were two women on the hot seat that day who didn’t know the answer, yet you keep taking my name, and only my name, for reasons that are quite obvious.”
She continued, “Yes, I may have blanked out that day—a human tendency—and forgotten who the sanjeevani booti was brought for, but it seems you have also forgotten some lessons of ‘forgive and forget’ taught by Lord Ram himself. If Lord Ram could forgive Manthara, Kaikeyi, and even Ravan after the great battle, surely you can let go of something so trivial in comparison… not that I need your forgiveness.”
She further warned him, saying, “I definitely need you to forget and stop repeatedly bringing up the same incident to stay in the news at the expense of me and my family. And finally, the next time you choose to comment on the values my father instilled in me, please remember that it’s because of those very values that I have responded to your distasteful remarks about my upbringing with utmost respect.”
Mukesh Khanna on Sonakshi Sinha’s upbringing
In his interview with Siddharth Kannan, Mukesh Khanna commented on Sonakshi’s mistake on Kaun Banega Crorepati, saying, “This happened despite her being the daughter of Shatrughan Sinha. Her brothers’ names are Luv and Kush. People were upset that Sonakshi didn’t know this, but I’d say it’s not her fault—it’s her father’s. Why didn’t they teach their children this? Why did they become so modern? If I were Shaktimaan today, I would make kids sit down and teach them about Indian culture and Sanatan Dharma.”
Following the episode, Sonakshi clarified that she was being extra cautious as the prize money was important for the contestant she was playing for.
