Shaitaan Teaser Review: The movie featuring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, and Jyotika is reminiscent of Tumbbad, and we have no complaints.

Madhavan’s haunting voiceover combined with terrified expressions from Ajay, and Jyotika infuse the Shaitaan teaser with an eerie atmosphere. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on March 8.

The teaser for the upcoming horror film “Shaitaan,” featuring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Jyotika, and Janaki Bodiwala, has been released by the filmmakers. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the teaser is genuinely eerie and dark, fueling anticipation for the movie. Madhavan’s voiceover opens with the lines, “Kehte hain ki yeh duniya poori behri hain, par sunte sab meri hain…” creating an ominous atmosphere as it introduces various elements of suspense and intrigue.

R Madhavan captures our hearts.

R Madhavan’s menacing smile in the teaser suggests that he might be the Shaitaan, sending shivers down your spine. In a previous tweet, the actor described his character, stating, “Shaitaan nazar milata nahi, nazar lagata hai.” We trust in Madhavan’s acting prowess.

Evoking feelings of Tumbbad, the teaser of Shaitaan showcases visuals of red and black voodoo dolls, devil’s symbols, and motifs. It includes glimpses of Ajay Devgn and Jyotika appearing frightened as if confronting someone. While the plot of Shaitaan is kept undisclosed by the makers, the teaser’s 1-minute 31-second duration presents impressive visuals, complemented by a sound design that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats.

Will Vikas Bahl’s directorial prowess shine again?

Undoubtedly one of Bollywood’s acclaimed directors, Vikas Bahl has directed successful films like Queen, Lootera, Hansi Toh Phasee, and Udta Punjab. However, his latest film, Ganapath, released in October 2023, received negative reviews and proved to be a box office disappointment, leaving both audiences and the filmmaker surprised by the outcome. With Shaitaan, Bahl is stepping into the horror-thriller genre for the first time. One can only hope that his past successes will translate into a positive outcome this time.

Additional details about Shaitaan:

Scheduled for a theatrical release on March 8, Shaitaan is produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak.

Ajay Devgn’s upcoming movie lineup:

Following Shaitaan, Ajay’s next film is Neeraj Pandey’s Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, co-starring Tabu. Featuring Saiee Manjrekar and Shantanu Maheshwari in pivotal roles, the movie is set to hit theaters on April 26, 2024.

Devgn is also set to appear in Boney Kapoor’s long-delayed period drama film Maidaan and Rohit Shetty’s action-packed Singham Again. Additionally, he is slated to feature in Raid 2, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, who also directed the first installment.

Jyotika makes a comeback to Hindi cinema after a hiatus of 25 years with Shaitaan. Her Bollywood debut was in Doli Saja Ke Rakhna (1997), opposite Akshaye Khanna, under the direction of Priyadarshan.

Furthermore, the film marks the Hindi cinema debut of Gujarati actress Janaki Bodiwala. Known for her roles in Chhello Divas: A New Beginning (2015) and Daud Pakad and Vash (2023), this marks her entry into the Hindi film industry.
