Last night, Salman Khan shared a post on X after watching the film, praising Kiran Rao for “Laapataa Ladies” and mistakenly referring to it as her directorial debut. Internet users quickly corrected him, noting that Kiran’s actual debut was with “Dhobi Ghat” a decade ago, making “Laapataa Ladies” her second directorial venture. Salman faced trolling for the error and subsequently deleted the original post, replacing it with a new one a few hours later.
Additionally, Salman Khan attended a special screening of “Laapataa Ladies,” where an inside video showed him embracing Aamir Khan. They were seated alongside Kiran Rao, Ravi Kishan, Raj Kumar Santoshi, and Ayan Mukerji. The video was shared on Spice’s official Instagram handle, captioned with warm regards for Salman’s presence at the event. Aamir and Salman famously collaborated in “Andaz Apna Apna,” portraying characters named Amar and Prem.

“Laapataa Ladies” is adapted from an acclaimed story by Biplab Goswami and features screenplay and dialogue by Sneha Desai, with additional dialogues by Divyanidhi Sharma. The film had a screening at the renowned Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) last year and has been receiving positive reviews from both critics and audiences.
