Eventually, the actor confirmed in an interview with Indian Express that the image was indeed digitally altered. The question that arises is: Why did he choose to do so?
When questioned about the viral shirtless picture, Manoj Bajpayee admitted, “It was morphed.” He explained that it was part of a campaign strategy by Netflix. The goal was to kick off a campaign with a captivating element of intrigue, and they successfully achieved that.
In the widely circulated ‘shirtless’ picture of Manoj Bajpayee, he was captured without a shirt, showcasing his impressive eight-pack abs. Celebrities and fans were curious about his workout routine, given the attention-grabbing physique. Manoj struck a serious expression as he posed for the camera in the image.
Accompanying the image, the actor captioned, “New Year, New Me! Check out the impact of the delicious soup on my body. It’s a killer look, isn’t it?” The photo was part of a promotional tactic for his recently released project, “Killer Soup,” in which Konkona Sen Sharma portrays his wife.
Abhishek Chaubey directs and co-writes “Killer Soup,” produced by Honey Trehan and Chetana Kowshik. The web series features an impressive cast, including Nasser, Sayaji Shinde, and Lal, and it premiered on Netflix on January 11.
