Asit Kumarr Modi, the producer of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, shared insights on Gurucharan Singh’s return to his home in Delhi.
After disappearing on April 22, former Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Gurucharan Singh safely returned to his home in Delhi on Friday. Asit Kumarr Modi, the show’s producer, has expressed his happiness and relief regarding Gurucharan’s safe return after nearly a month of being missing.
Modi, in an interview with Times Now News, shared his joy for Gurucharan’s family, saying, “I am very happy that he is back. I send him my best wishes. I am elated for his family, too. We were all very worried, but now we can sigh in relief since he is back.” Although Modi acknowledged his uncertainty about the details of Gurucharan’s disappearance, he emphasized his delight that the actor’s family has been reunited with their son.
“I don’t know the details, but I am glad that his family has their son back. Ab unke mind mein kya hai woh samajh nahi sakte na (We can’t understand what is going on in his mind). We don’t know what he is feeling. I have been trying to call him, but his phone is unreachable. I want to talk to him. I wish he calls me back so I could know more,” he added.
Regarding the police interrogation of the cast and crew during the investigation, Modi noted, “The police visited our sets and questioned everyone. I wasn’t present then, but everyone cooperated. The police later spoke to me, and I informed them that I hadn’t spoken to Gurucharan for several months.”
Recently, Gurucharan’s co-star Jennifer Mistry, known for portraying the character Roshan Daruwala Kaur Sodhi on the show, also expressed her happiness and relief in a recent interview with News18 Showsha. She stated, “That is good news. He was missing for almost a month now. Everyone was worried, from his parents to his fans. I knew that he would definitely come back. I also had a feeling that he must be out on some spiritual journey. He is a very spiritual person. I am happy this is the case and there is no trouble. I am sure his parents must be relieved now.”
DCP South West Delhi, Rohit Meena, offered an update on the case, stating that the actor had been encountering personal and professional challenges, prompting him to undertake a “spiritual journey.” Upon his reappearance, Gurucharan was interrogated by the Delhi Police, and his statement was documented before a local court. As per police reports, the actor affirmed that he had departed from home to pursue a spiritual quest.
The circumstances preceding Gurucharan’s disappearance remain somewhat ambiguous, with early reports suggesting that the actor had been visiting his parents in Delhi and was expected to return to Mumbai but failed to do so. His worried father lodged a missing person complaint with the Delhi Police in April, triggering a nationwide search and stirring widespread concern among fans of the beloved television series.
