Many thought Munawar Faruqui was set to win ‘Bigg Boss 17’ because of his fame, sparking claims of a rigged outcome. Munawar, who won Rs 50 lakh and a new car, addressed these allegations after the grand finale in Mumbai on January 28th.
Speaking to IndiaToday.in, Munawar said, “I’m not sure. I always felt it was a toss-up between me and Abhishek; he deserved to win just as much. The idea of being labeled a ‘fixed winner’ is just amusing,” he chuckled.
He further mentioned that his victory was attributed to the audience’s affection. “Despite my flaws and the criticism I faced, I received love from viewers. I’ve made positive contributions outside the show, earning me their support. I’m deeply grateful for their kindness and encouragement,” he expressed.
Munawar described his win on ‘BB’ as a déjà vu moment, acknowledging the support of his fans. “This victory feels like history repeating itself for me. Though I aimed to win when I entered the show, I carried a lot of baggage. Reflecting on my journey now, this trophy symbolizes a significant achievement. Thankfully, I had the strength to bear its weight and emerge victorious,” he shared.
As Munawar clinched the title, and Mannara Chopra secured the positions of first and second runner-up, respectively.
