Renowned Bengali actor Sreela Majumdar, highly regarded by esteemed filmmakers like Mrinal Sen, Shyam Benegal, and Prakash Jha, passed away at her residence in Kolkata on Saturday, as confirmed by her family. Afflicted by cancer for the past three years, the 65-year-old actor is survived by her husband and son.
Mourning her demise, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee praised Sreela Majumdar as a formidable actor renowned for her exceptional performances in numerous significant Indian films. She expressed that Sreela’s passing is a significant loss to the Bengal film industry and extended her heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
