According to recent updates, Sunny Deol has been confirmed to portray the role of Lord Hanuman in the planned trilogy based on the Indian epic Ramayana.
The anticipation surrounding Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan is palpable, with speculation rampant about the star cast. Recent reports suggested that Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi might portray Lord Ram and Devi Sita, respectively, while Yash could potentially take on the role of Demon King Ravana. However, the casting for Lord Hanuman remained unconfirmed until now.
As per the latest updates from PinkVilla, Sunny Deol has been officially announced to play the iconic character of Lord Hanuman in the Ramayan trilogy. According to a close source, Sunny Deol is thrilled about this unique opportunity and is poised to bring his signature strength and conviction to the role.
The source also disclosed that Sunny Deol’s shooting schedule for Ramayan: Part One is slated to commence in May 2024. While his appearance in the first installment will be a guest role, he will have a more prominent presence in the subsequent parts of the trilogy. The makers are confident that, much like his portrayal of Tara Singh, Sunny Deol will become synonymous with the character of Lord Hanuman in contemporary times.
If the latest reports are accurate, Sunny Deol’s inclusion following Rocking Star Yash’s involvement in the magnum opus would undoubtedly heighten excitement among fans.
Earlier discussions hinted at Bobby Deol potentially portraying Kumbhkaran and Lara Dutta as Queen Kaikeyi, but Bobby declined the offer. Presently, talks are reportedly ongoing with Vijay Sethupathi for the role of Vibhishan, although there’s no official confirmation yet. Undoubtedly, the film is poised to feature an ensemble cast from various industries, making it one of the most anticipated Indian movies to date.
According to recent reports, Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi are set to begin shooting for the epic on March 2nd. Their schedule will focus on scenes with extensive dialogue, while sequences involving war and other elements are slated for April and May. The director aims to wrap up these pivotal scenes before the monsoon season begins. Yash is expected to join the cast in June or July 2024, shooting for 15 days to complete his part in the first installment.
The shooting for the first part of the film is projected to conclude by July 2024. Post-production work, primarily centered on VFX, will then commence, with 500 days allocated for its completion.
